One More Day to Bending the Rules

Tomorrow will mark the end of a series that has pretty much been responsible for my ability to write full-time. In December 2007 Enjoying the Show released with Samhain. And now, seven years later, the Wicked Warrens series will finish with Bending the Rules.

The series started out with three brothers–Gage and twins Derrick and Dylan–and their mother, a widow. They’re a close-knit family,and they boys love their mother. They all enrich one another’s lives and inspire their friends to find love. After I finished with the brothers, however, I realized a few of the other characters needed love. Making the Grade was the first book to not star a Warren, but to have the guys in secondary roles. And now in Bending the Rules, I’m bringing the series to a close.

Series Cast of Characters

• Gage Warren, the youngest of the Warren brothers. Socially awkward and smokin’ hot, he works in the family construction business with Derrick, his older brother. Gage and Hailey fall in love. [Enjoying the Show]
• Hailey Jennison, a blond bombshell who hates all the attention she gets. She has two best friends, Sydney and Faith, and meets weekly to watch the hot stud across the complex strip down. (Note, hot stud in question is Gage.) She and Gage are an item. [Enjoying the Show]
• Faith Sumner, a beautiful brunette with a head on her shoulders, she’s tired of being arm candy on the rich and obnoxious. She has self-esteem issues and decides to take a break from men. And then she meets Brian Goode and falls hard for the guy. [Making the Grade]
• Derrick Warren, one of the sexy Warren twins. He’s an amazing architect, all around good guy, and charmer of the first degree. He’s got a thing for Sydney big time. [Closing the Deal]
• Sydney Fields, a redhead who knows she’s amazing but has a bad habit of dating the wrong guys. She and Derrick share a passion for kink, fun, and each other. [Closing the Deal]
• Brian Goode, a blond Adonis who’s in need of a good real estate agent (enter Sydney). He’s rich and wanting more from a woman than interest in his stocks. He wonders if he might have a future with Sydney but meets Faith and falls head over heels in love. [Making the Grade]
• Harper Reynolds, a studly contractor working for the city, he’s Nat’s right hand man and more than intrigued by Derrick Warren…or is that Dylan Warren? Between Dylan and Freddy, Harper is fit to be tied. [Raising the Bar]
• Dylan Warren, a prominent psychiatrist who is smart, funny, and vulnerable when ti comes to his place in the family and his mother’s heart. He’s also unconventional when it comes to sex. He’s bisexual and loves adventure and has found it in Harper and Freddy. [Raising the Bar]
• Freddy Thompson, Brian’s sister, is a kinky little thing who runs an exclusive sex club in town. She’s had a crush on Harper for a long time, but when she sees him and Dylan together, she’s lost in the fantasy, and soon lost in them. [Raising the Bar]
• Nat Wielder, a no-nonsense city planner, she runs her office like a military commander. Nat has little time for fools or nonsense. She’s a take-charge woman in and out of bed but can’t seem to find a strong yet submissive partner. Until she runs into a charmer southerner who won’t take No, Mistress for an answer. • Rex Samson, a slick southern boy who likes his sex wicked, rough, and with the right Domme. Rex has played with men and women, but he’s partial to one particular stubborn brunette who needs him more than she knows. [Bending the Rules]

In Bending the Rules, Nat finds herself facing a real challenge–trying to tame a slick good old boy armed with captivating charm while keeping her professional and personal lives separate.

Rex is strong and sexy but submissive. He was fun to write and a departure from my normally more sexually dominant heroes. But there’s nothing weak or soft about him, and those contrasts make for an intriguing character. 

Nat is strong yet vulnerable. She’s by the book. She has a job to do and she does it exceeding well. But it’s hard being so competent and strong all the time. She wants a lover who will cherish her and subscribe to her kind of kink–submitting to her in bed. Accepting her as a Domme but not being so weak that he’s not his own man. It’s not easy finding that perfect guy…until Rex.
