Freya’s Battle-Cats
As a writer, I have been known to take liberties with fact to make fiction. Granted, mythology isn’t exactly fact, but I did take a few tugs as the Norse pantheon when I wrote the first book in my Ludos Deorum story–Beasts of Burden.
Ludos Deorum–Latin for Games of the Gods. I’ve always been fascinated with larger than life stories, and the gods are pretty much as big as it gets. The Norse pantheon in particular has captivated my attention for years.
When searching for a few shapeshifters to go in the series kick-off, I decided on something special. Freya, the goddess of love, beauty and fertility, also presided over battles in a chariot pulled by two cats. I decided to expand on this and made them battle-cats, the size of two grizzlies put together. The cats are large, fierce, and merciless. And when human, hot as all get-out.
The heroes of this story, Hall and Avarr, are not only in love with Eira–the heroine (and a valkyrie)–they’re in love with each other too. This is a smokin’ menage story where everyone is in bed with everyone, which I consider more fun than erotic stories only connecting through one person.
But Hall and Avarr don’t know they’re in love with each other that way… not at first. When they find out, it’s a whole new ball game. Especially when Eira witnesses her pursuers tearing up some nasty minotaurs and mummies and realizes all she’s been missing these many decades.
Check out Beasts of Burden if you want a taste of hot shapeshifters, a kick-ass heroine, feline sensibilities, and hot man on man on woman action. Let the games begin…
