A New Year–2014

Hurray! A new year is here. A new writing year, I mean. I don’t count Jan 1st as a true beginning, because my schedule was totally off with the kids being home. Love ’em, but I can’t do much work with them around. It really messes up my writing rhythms. I start writing at night, then I stay up too late. Then I get tired, stop writing, and start catching up on all the movies and TV I missed during the year. And no writing gets done.

It’s like falling off the horse. I clean, organize, play on Facebook, edit or do administrative things, but I don’t create anything new. It’s like pulling teeth to sit back down at the keyboard and just write.

I’m pulling teeth, and here I sit. Getting ready to start a new series for a particular publisher and hoping my editor is receptive. 2014 is figuring to be a very contemporary year for me. As in, most of my work will be contemporary romance.

My paranormal romances are currently on hold, and I’m sorry about that. I have my Amazon Westerns to finish, as well as some dragons and shapeshifters needing happy endings. I’m thinking 2015. Well, except for one paranormal story coming out in an anthology in August…

In any case, I hadn’t intended for this to be a year of contemporary romances. It just turned out that way. I have the final two books in the Wicked Warren series to release, both contemporary. Then a series of four brothers, the McCauleys, releasing from Sourcebooks starting in June. (My first mass market books; I’m very excited.) I also have a trio of military romances due out with Fated Desires. A Major Attraction, the first book, is really close to my heart, and I couldn’t be happier that FD accepted.

All told, that’s 9 books. And I’m not done.

I also plan on re-releasing the last two Satyr’s Myst books–also contemporary–in February. Then there’s a new story for Loose Id, centered around a missed connection theme, that releases in the spring or summer. I’m now up to 12 releases counting the re-releases. Whew.

Oh, and my super secret project (that isn’t so secret if I’m talking about it now) is to release four novellas back to back in December. A brand new series centered around four millionaires and the women they love. Lots to do, so I’d better get crackin’.

Stay tuned to my release dates. That’s what I do to see what’s next. Yikes.
